  • US Highway 550: This north-and-south, four-lane highway runs stretches from Bernalillo (just north of Albuquerque) to Aztec to the Colorado state line. Driving time from Albuquerque's international airport to Aztec is approximately three hours.
  • NM 516: This east-and-west, four-lane highway stretches from Farmington to Aztec. Driving time from Farmington is approximately 15 minutes.
  • NM 173: Otherwise known as Navajo Dam Road, this east-and-west, two-lane road stretches from Navajo Lake State Park to Aztec. Driving time from Navajo Lake to Aztec is approximately 30 minutes.
  • NM 574: This north-and-south, two-lane road stretches from La Plata to Aztec, and is a scenic route to the southwest corner of Colorado. Driving time from La Plata to Aztec is approximately 30 minutes.
